In de joodse traditie is wijn zegen en verbond, zichtbaar in Kiddush bij sjabbat en feesten. De wijnstok geldt als beeld van het volk: verzorgd, gesnoeid, beschermd. Wijn markeert heilige tijd met maat, niet met losse overdaad.
In Jewish tradition wine is blessing and covenant, visible in Kiddush at Shabbat and festivals. The vine is an image of the people: tended, pruned, protected. Wine marks holy time with measure, not with loose excess.
