Het land heet in het Arabisch Al-Jaz'ir. Sinds 1842 wijnbouwland. Wijngaarden en kelders zijn door Fransen aangelegd en gecontroleerd tot Algerije zelfstandig werd in 1962. Werd/wordt gebruikt om Franse wijnen mee te versnijden
The country is called Al-Jaz'ir in Arabic. A winegrowing country since 1842. Vineyards and cellars were laid out and controlled by the French until independence in 1962. Used, then and later, to blend into French wines.
