Rathfinny Wine Estate is een wijndomein in Sussex, zo'n vijf kilometer van de zee. Mark en Sarah Driver startten in 2010 met de ambitie Engeland als producent van sterke mousserende wijn te zetten. De eerste stokken gingen in 2012 de grond in. Inmiddels zo'n 400 hectare op zuidhellingen in Cradle Valley, op dezelfde krijtstrook die van Noord-Frankrijk tot Zuid-Engeland loopt. Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier en Chardonnay profiteren van het maritieme klimaat en de krijtbodem. Alleen eigen druiven, handoogst, traditionele methode: Classic Cuvée, Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs en Rosé. Gebouwen met lokale materialen, onder meer vuursteen uit de wijngaard. Samenwerking met Natural England en het South Downs National Park voor leefgebied van wilde dieren, herstel van kalkgrasland en verbindingen tussen natuur tussen de percelen.
Rathfinny Wine Estate is a wine estate in Sussex, about five kilometres from the sea. Mark and Sarah Driver started in 2010 with the ambition to put England on the map for fine sparkling wine. The first vines went into the ground in 2012. Today about 400 hectares on south-facing slopes in Cradle Valley, on the same chalk belt that runs from northern France to southern England. Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay benefit from the maritime climate and chalk soils. Estate fruit only, hand harvest, traditional method: Classic Cuvée, Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs and Rosé. Buildings use local materials, including flint from the vineyard. Work with Natural England and the South Downs National Park for wildlife habitat, restoring chalk grassland and linking nature between the plots.
